30 June-1 July 2011
Orléans, France
Organizers welcome individual paper and poster submissions to be presented in any of the joint thematic sessions corresponding to all the topics from the fields covered by the participating Commissions and Working Group. A very important condition to meet is that the organizers will accept only papers that will not be presented in the 25th International Cartographic Conference in Paris.

Colleagues intending to present a poster are invited to send an abstract following the guidelines contained in the file attached to this Call. The maximal size of the posters is 1.20 x 2.00 meters. Local organizers and Commissions' representatives plan to give a special award for the best poster presentation.

There was a wrong deadline in the guideline file which caused a confusion of the submission deadline. We agreed on the local organizers to extend the original deadlines in order to give chance for the potential participants who have taken into account the wrong deadline. In case you have already sent your paper or poster abstract and you want to make changes (using the advantages of the new deadline) please contact us.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

  • Submission of full papers and abstracts for posters: April 18 March 21
  • Notification of authors about acceptance: April 26 April 4
  • Sending of registration form and arrival of transfer for payment of registration fee: May 11
  • Please send all papers and abstracts to László Zentai or Jesús Reyes.

Participants will receive a CD-ROM containing the accepted symposium papers (included in the registration fee). Springer publishing house plans to publish a volume of the Lecture notes of the selected papers after the symposium. The editors of the volume (László Zentai and Jesús Reyes) will contact the authors of selected papers after the registration deadline, asking them for possible modifications in the original paper according to the guidelines of the publisher. Each first author of the Lecture notes will receive a copy free of charge.

If you have any question related to the papers and posters, please contact László Zentai (ICA Commission on Education and Training) or Jesús Reyes (ICA Commission on Cartography and Children).
