Sziasztok! Nagyon sajnálom az olasz versenyzőt és mindenkit, aki feladta,
vagy rosszul lett a versen,én. El tudom képzelni, hogy mit érezzétek futás
közben. Átéreztem én is a New York marathonon 1984-ben, amikor iszonyatos
meleg és nagyon magas páratartalom volt. Az élmezőnyben is nagyon sokan
feladták. Hogy milyen lehetett az az időkből is kimerült. 1983 1. helyezett
2 óra 8 perc volt, én 33. lettem 2:15: 55-ös idővel. 1984-ben 1. helyzettel
2 óra 15 perc, én iszonyú görcsöket még 40 km-nél 15. voltam, de
bevonszoltam magam a 25. helyre, ami akkor még 1000 dollár pénzjutalom
volt, az időm pedig 2 óra 23 perc volt, amit edzésen is tudtunk. Ezzel azt
akartam érzékeltetni, hogy nem vagyunk egyformák, van aki kibírhatatlan és
van aki nem az ilyen extrém időjárást, előre meg nem lehet tudni, hogy a
verseny napján milyen idő lesz. Üdv Csonti
