Greetings ISHMappers,

Herman Moll's map *Florida called by ye French Louisiana &c. By H. Moll
Geographer* <http://www.davidrumsey.com/luna/servlet/s/tt1vx8>, with the
first state of the engraving dated 1728 (the only state with a date) was
published in Herman Moll's *Atlas Minor* in 1729. The *Atlas Minor* was
republished at least twice in the 1730s, the mid 1740s, 1763, and even as
late as circa 1790. The above map is listed in Cumming's *Southeast in
Early Maps*, though Cumming does not describe the full publication history,
nor the eventual change in map title to Florida : the north part of the
Gulf of Mexico with the adjacent territories belonging to Great Britain and
to France was published<http://fcit.usf.edu/florida/maps/pages/2900/f2924/f2924.htm>.
Looking at the latter map, one would suppose that it was published at the
conclusion of the 7 Years War. The map shows "Walker's" in what is now
Kentucky, so it had to be published after 1750. However, Phillips's
*Geographical
Atlases in the Library of Congress*, does not indicate a change in the
title of the map in the LoC's post-1750 copies of the *Atlas Minor*. So,
who can tell me when/where *Florida : the north part of the Gulf of Mexico
with the adjacent territories belonging to Great Britain and to France* was
published?

Thanks,

Jay L
