Company Profile

The GEOCOMP Ltd. was established in 1989, as a Hungarian representative (authorised distributor) of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI Inc., California, USA). The present owners are the KFKI Számítástechnikai Rt. (Central Physics Research Institute Computer Technics Inc.) and the Dangermond's (founders and president of ESRI).

The company has three small divisions. Namely the Marketing Department, Technical Department and Administration. Geocomp Ltd. is equipped with RISC processor workstations, PCs, digitising table, large size scanner, printers and plotter.

Geocomp's activities cover every need in marketing field, technical support, special GIS training and application development with necessary data entry as well, regarding ESRI´s products.

For more than twenty years, ESRI has been helping professionals and managers solve geographic problems. A pioneer in geoprocessing tools, ESRI is wholly dedicated to geographic information system and geoprocessing technology. ARC/INFO software was the first database oriented GIS to be developed in the World. Thousands of organisations use ARC/INFO software because it encompasses the leading ideas in technology for geographic information management. Its introduction started a revolution in digital cartography and the way professionals manage spatial information.

ESRI software features:

ESRI´s products:

ARC/INFO is a high-end GIS with capabilities for the automation, modification, management, analysis, and display geographic information. Setting the world-wide standard for GIS functionality, ARC/INFO software supports the broad spectrum of GIS based applications, including local government, land resource management, automated mapping and facilities management, demographic analysis, environmental analysis, oil and gas exploration, transportation, cartographic production, and education and research.

ARC/INFO NETWORK extensions facilitate the modeling of spatial network. NETWORK can be used in a multitude of applications to solve real-world problems, including emergency vehicle dispatch, transportation analysis and planning, urban planning, retail marketing, school districting and bus routing, shipping and delivery optimisation, and political redistricting.

ARC/INFO TIN software is a surface modelling package used to create, store, analyse, and display surface information in ARC/INFO environment. TIN is an ideal tool for applications such as 3D display of oil and gas deposits, volumetric and cut-fill analysis, assessment of visual quality, generation of engineering contours, and analysis of groundwater aquifers.

ARC/INFO GRID software is a raster or cell-based geoprocessing toolbox designated for spatial modelling that is integrated into ARC/INFO software. GRID can be used in a multitude of applications to solve real-world problems, including land use planning, market research, site suitability analysis, corridor and path analysis, dispersion and hydrologic modeling and more.

ARC/INFO COGO software, a new approach to interactive co-ordinate geometry (COGO), directly links GIS technology with the software tools used for land records property assessment, surveying, development review, and engineering and cadastral base mapping.

ArcView software is highly affordable, easy-to-learn software tool that enables You quickly select and display different combinations of data for creatively visualising information. Available for PC compatibles, Apple Macintosh computer, and a variety of UNIX workstations. ArcView works directly with ARC/INFO and PC ARC/INFO databases.

PC ARC/INFO is a full-featured GIS for DOS-based PC compatibles. PC ARC/INFO is fully integrated with other ESRI products, giving You access to an extensive system that meets Your needs today and tomorrow.

ArcCAD software links Arc/Info, the world's leading GIS software, to AutoCAD, the world's leading CAD software. In addition to providing an integrated environment for traditional users of GIS and CAD in applications such as civil engineering, transportation engineering, and facilities management, ArcCAD also opens GIS technology to a variety of new applications.
