Dear Colleagues and Students!
The abstract submission for Europe's biggest geoscience conference is open! The most important things to do & know:
* Submit your regular abstract to the session of your choice<https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/egu25/programme> by 15 January 2025, 13:00 CET.
* Apply for financial support<https://egu25.eu/guidelines/supports_and_waivers.html> by submitting your abstract by 2 December 2024, 13:00 CET.
* Submit an abstract in an EOS session<https://www.egu25.eu/guidelines/eos.html> in addition to a regular abstract, this is the only exception to the one abstract rule (unless you are a solicited speaker<https://www.egu25.eu/guidelines/conveners.html>).
* If you have been invited as a solicited speaker<https://www.egu25.eu/guidelines/conveners.html>, ensure you have the TAN number from your convener that you need to submit your solicited talk in addition to a regular abstract.
* Looking for tips on how to submit your abstract? Find instructions on how to submit<https://egu25.eu/programme/how_to_submit.html> on the EGU25 website.
* Support your colleagues at the General Assembly – the EGU25 mentoring scheme<https://www.egu.eu/outreach/mentoring/> will open for mentors on 14 November 2024.
* GeoCinema<https://www.egu.eu/news/1167/geocinema-at-egu25-submit-your-short-film-now/> is back! Submit<https://www.egu.eu/meetings/general-assembly/geocinema/form/> your short film by 6 December 2024.
*
Prepare your calendar with all the EGU25 important dates by checking the Deadlines and Milestones<https://www.egu25.eu/about/deadlines_and_milestones.html> page.

Additionally, let me invite you to the session and Short Course that I contribute to:
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to the EGU25 session entitled “The Contribution of Geodiversity and Geoheritage to Society – Bridging Geoscience, Education, and Community Engagement” (GM4.5). This session aims to explore how geodiversity and geoheritage contribute to sustainable societies, education, and cultural identity.
Topics include:
*
Methods and tools in geodiversity and geoheritage, such as assessments and mapping techniques;
*
Geoconservation and geotourism management, with strategies for geoheritage site preservation and community involvement through citizen science projects;
*
Geoheritage and education, highlighting experiences in innovative educational programs and the role of geoparks in disseminating geoscientific knowledge;
*
The social and cultural links between geodiversity, geoheritage, and cultural identity;
*
The interaction between geodiversity and biodiversity.
The session is co-organised by the Geomorphosites Working Group of the International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG) and the International Association for the Conservation of Geological Heritage (ProGEO).
Abstract submission
The deadline for abstract submission is 15 January 2025, 13:00 CET.

This year a short course on "Geodiversity, geoheritage and geoconservation: tools to achieve a more sustainable world" will be offered. It will be an excellent opportunity for early career scientists and those interested in the interdisciplinary connections between geoscience, geoconservation, and sustainable development.
