The basic announcement from Rita Udina initially appeared on ExLibris-L,

. There is rather detailed presentation of "before and after" images, 
including covers, bindings, and locks. There is a discussion of other 
techniques applied. The atlas itself is apparently held by the Military 
History and Culture Center in Barcelona.
