13th Symposium of the InternationalCoronelli Society for the Study of Globes

 The 13th Symposium of the International Coronelli Society for the Studyof Globes will take place from September 23 to September 26, 2015 incooperation with the Mathematisch-PhysikalischerSalon in Dresden (Germany).

 CALL FOR PAPERS

Themes: all aspects of the studyof globes – especially the history of globes and globes in their historical andsocio-cultural context, as well as globe related instruments such as armillaryspheres, planetaria, telluria and lunaria.

Languages: German and English (nointerpreters available)

 Time allowed for papers: 20minutes, followed by 10 minutes discussion

 Technical Equipment: Power PointPresentation

 Paper Proposals must be submittedin English or German (max. 250 words) to the Society’s office by March 31, 2015.

The Programme Committee will make the paper selection and inform the applicantsby April 30, 2015.

TENTATIVE PROGRAM

23 September:            afternoon:guided tour through Dresden-  evening:informal gathering  (each personpays for him- or herself)

24 September:            morningand afternoon: papers

25 September:           morningand afternoon: papers - evening:symposium dinner

26 September:            trip toLeipzig,   includingthe visit of the  Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde

REGISTRATION FEE: 120 EURO

(includes refreshments and coffeeduring the breaks, an invitation to the Symposium Dinner, the trip to Leipzigincluding the visit of the Leibniz-Institutfür Länderkunde and copies of the proceedings of the symposium, to bepublished in Globe Studies. The Journalof the International Coronelli Society)

 Charge foraccompanying persons: 90 EURO
