[Phd] meeting with our PhD students

Tisztelt Doktoranduszok!

Az előző tanévhez képest néhány változást léptetünk életbe a doktoranduszainkkal kapcsolatban. A 2022-ben a doktori képzésüket elkezdett külföldi doktoranduszoknak akkor helyhiány miatt nem tudtunk megfelelő elhelyezést (szobarész, saját asztal, számítógép) biztosítani, erre most nyílik lehetőség a tanév kezdetekor. Ez együtt jár azzal is, hogy néhány felsőbb éves magyar és külföldi doktoranduszt is át kell költöztetnünk a tavalyi elhelyezésükhöz képest.
Az ezzel kapcsolatos gyakorlati tudnivalók megbeszélésére egy egyeztetésre hívom önöket 2023. IX. 7-re, 13.30-ra az intézetünkbe (kérem, hogy aki nem tud jelen lenni, ezt jelezze előre). Szeretnénk azt is kérni, hogy IX. 5-ig küldjék el, hogy milyen terveik vannak az őszi félévre: hetente mennyi időt terveznek az intézetben tölteni. 
Terveink szerint mindenkinek tudunk egy asztali gépet biztosítani, amely elegendő az általános feladatok elvégzésére (levelezés, szövegszerkesztés, egyszerűbb grafikai és térinformatikai szoftverek), de ha valakinek a kutatásaihoz ennél komolyabb gépre lenne igénye, akkor kérjük ezt is jelezze IX. 5-ig. Sajnos ezen igények kielégítése meghaladhatja a jelenlegi anyagi lehetőségeinket és az esetleges pótlólagos beszerzés is nagyon időigényes. Az is hasznos információ a számunkra, hogy nem tartanak igényt asztali gépre, hanem a saját laptopjukat szeretnék használni az intézeti szobában is. Természetesen az intézeti számítógépes laborok számítógépeit továbbra is használhatják, amikor nincs óra a termekben.
A képzésüket most (vagy korábban) befejezett doktoranduszoknak nem kell megjelenniük, de akinél még esetleg kulcs vagy beléptető kártya maradt, kérem mihamarabb juttassa ezeket vissza. A kilépő doktoranduszok által korábban használt asztali PC-ket néhány napon belül az új doktoranduszok veszik használatba, így ha valakinek még maradt volna fontos állománya a számítógépeken, akkor ezeket mihamarabb mentse le, illetve ezzel kapcsolatban.

Dear PhD students!

Compared to the previous academic year, we are introducing some changes for our PhD students. For foreign doctoral students who started their doctoral studies in 2022, we were not able to provide adequate accommodation (shared room, own desk, computer) due to lack of space. This also means that we will have to relocate some senior Hungarian and foreign doctoral students compared to their placements last year.
To discuss the practicalities of this, I invite you to a meeting on 7 September 2023, 13.30 at our institute (please let us know in advance if you cannot attend). We would also like to ask you to send us by 5 September 2023 your plans for the autumn semester: how much time per week you plan to spend at the institute. 
We plan to provide everyone with a desktop computer sufficient for general tasks (mail, word processing, simple graphics and GIS software), but if someone needs a more advanced computer for their research, please let us know by 5 September. Unfortunately, meeting these needs may be beyond our current financial means and any additional purchase would be very time-consuming. It is also useful information for us to know that you do not require a desktop computer, but would like to use your own laptop in the institute room. Of course, you can still use the computers in the institute's computer labs when there are no classes in the classrooms.
Doctoral students who have completed their studies this year (or earlier) do not need to attend, but if you still have a room key or access card, please return it as soon as possible. The desktop PCs previously used by outgoing PhD students will be taken over by the new doctoral students in a few days, so if anyone has any important files left on their computers, please back them up as soon as possible.
