Dear CogVis members,

I’m happy to announce in collaboration with Commissions on User Experience and Geovisualisation, Working Group Next Generation Cartographers, as well as the University of Warsaw Department of Geoinformatics, Cartography and Remote Sensing wherefrom written by Izabela Gołębiowska (particularly note early career scholarships!):

We would like to announce about approaching deadlines for submissions to 2024 ICA Workshop on AI, Geovisualization, and Analytical Reasoning ⬩ CartoVis24<http://carto-vis-workshop.uw.edu.pl/news/> that is going to take place on 7 September 2024 at University of Warsaw, Poland:
- deadline for Short paper (2 pages) is 15th May 2024,
- deadline for Abstract (300 words) is 1st June 2024.

At the same time we would like to share important (and good!) news:

  1. The workshop is going to be no conference fee event. The optional cost will be connected with a voluntary group dinner taking place in the evening after the workshop concludes.
  2. There is an opportunity to apply for ICA Scholarships for Early Career Scientists & Professionals with deadline for application is April 30, 2024. You do *not* have to have submitted your abstract for the workshop or received acceptance yet to apply for the award. More details: http://carto-vis-workshop.uw.edu.pl/ica-scholarships-for-early-career-scientists-professionals/
  3. All accepted submissions will be published in the Abstracts of the ICA conference series. Therefore, we introduced an important change: all workshop's submissions have to follow the ICA guidelines. The Word template is available here<http://carto-vis-workshop.strony.uw.edu.pl/wp-content/uploads/sites/400/2024/04/2024-ICA-Workshop-on-AI-Geovisualization-and-Analytical-Reasoning_-submission-template.docx>.

Looking forward to meeting you in Warsaw!

Your sincere messenger,

Pyry
