Call for Papers: 2020 Thinking Within Symposium

CIE partners, educators, and researchers,

The call for papers for the 2020 Thinking Within symposium is now open! The symposium will bring together educators and researchers to address questions of how immersive technologies such as augmented and virtual reality alter approaches to teaching, learning, and research. The Center for Immersive Experiences (CIE) is hosting Thinking Within in collaboration with Temple and Pittsburgh University and is looking for presenters to share their work with and ideas on virtual reality, augmented reality, 360-degree video and more.

Recommended topics for Thinking Within papers include but are not limited to:
* Empirical evaluations of immersive technologies
* Immersive environments for research and education
* Availability of standardized 3D environments
*            Mobile versus fixed-screen applications
* Theoretical contributions to immersive technologies research (e.g., place, genius loci)
* Revisiting communication paradigms for immersive technologies
* Virtual and augmented reality field trips
* Immersive technologies in the classroom
*            Remaining technical challenges
* Efficient workflows for content creation
*            Democratizing immersive technologies

Presentation abstracts should be limited to 500 words. The deadline for proposal submissions is Monday, February 17. Learn more about the submission process https://thinkingwithin.psu.edu/call-for-papers/
