Cartoranje is one of the largest private land-surveying companies in Hungary. It was established in 1992 as a joint venture of the Hungarian Cartographia (a state-owned company) and the Dutch consulting company Ingenieursbureau Oranjewoud.

The contribution of Cartographia in this joint-venture is the professional education, the many years of experience, of the privatized employees, traditional equipment and the "goodwill".

Oranjewoud has contributed to the joint venture with financial means as well as the realization of the necessary up-to-date technological investments.

Oranjewoud has a permanent staff of over 1500 persons and is one of the largest consulting companies in the Netherlands. Basic activities include civil engineering, design of sport - and recreacion fecilities, horticultural engneering and regional planning, preparation of studies in technologies of environmental engineering as well as geodesy, land surveying, mapping and other geodetic activities.

Cartoranje can rely on the wide professional experience and "know-how" of Oranjewoud in every respect.

The activities of Cartoranje are wide-spread; the services of Cartoranje can be used in all fields of practical geodesy. Cartoranje is accepting orders from local municipalities, national institutions, public utilities, infrastructural investors and planners, industrial enterprises, construction companies and also from private persons.

At present, Cartoranje is working with 80 employees. The staff of Cartoranje consists of geodetic engineers, technicians, draftsmen, assistants and clerical personnel. Most of the employees came from the 1 st and 2nd survey departements of Cartographia.

As the activities are of service character, Cartoranje lays emphasis on the need for cooperation with the clients, with regard to special demands. The flexible organizational stucture and professional capabilities makes the company able to undertake major complex projects, such as geodetic tasks concerning infrastructural road-, railroad-, and telecommunication projects, as well as filling up municipal information data bases, or preperation of municipal real estate cadastres.

Digitizing of utility maps of the city of Jászberény, preparation of the digital planning map
Client: Jásztel Rt.

Total value: 4,5 million HUF
Task: digitizing of unified utility map of the town on Calcomp A0 digitizers with AutoCad R12 software. The digital database forms the base map for the planning of the telecommunication network of the town, as well as the basis of the "as built" register and operation map of the constructed network.

Budapest, XIII. District, real estate cadastre
Client: Municipality of Budapest

Total value: 16 million HUF
Task: digitizing of 1:500 utility maps of the district, completion measurements in field, collection of administrative data and processing for the preparation of the real estate cadastre. The digitizing was made by Integraph MC 4.0 software after scanning.

Numeric survey on behalf of the utility maps of the municipalities in the region of "Jászság".

Total value: 40 million HUF
Task: numeric survey by automatic total stations of the public areas (block contures) of the communities. Measurement of the layed telecommunication cables. The block interiors will be completed with digitized data of the topographic base maps.
Used software is AutoCad R12.
The prepared maps will be the telecommunication base maps.
