Tuesday 16th July 1996.	Short distance event with semi-finals (9 a.m.) and finals (3 p.m.) (6 women, 6 men)	3 days VESZPRÉM CUP Arrival, registration (1 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
Wednesday 17th July 1996.	Model event 2 Representatives for the classic distance	Veszprém Cup 1st day 0 time: 9 a.m.
Thursday 18th July 1996.	Classic distance event (9 a.m.) (5 women, 5 men)	Veszprém Cup 2nd day 0 time: 3 p.m.
Friday 19th July 1996.	Model event 3 Representatives for the relay	Veszprém Cup 3rd day 0 time: 9 a.m.
Saturday 20th July 1996.	Relay event (9 a.m.) Closing ceremony (1-1 team of 4)
Sunday 21th July 1996.	Departure of the teams from Veszprém

Participation: Each country can be represented by 12 competitors and 4 officials. Competitors shall be born between January 1st, 1968, and 31st December, 1978, and shall be:

• students who are officially registered at a university or similar institute whose status as a university is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their academic degree or diploma in 1995.
• former students of the institutions mentioned above who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in 1995.

Those competitors who come from a country, where the number of the inhabitants is less than 2000000 or the number of the students does not reach the value of 5000, or can they be students of secondary schools if they attend that institute for at least for two years.

Rules: The World Championship will be held according to the latest FISU rules (based on the IOF regulations).
