Date: 15-21 August 1999 Venue: Lake Balaton, West Hungary, Keszthely - Sümeg - Tapolca area Event Centre: Újdörögd, military camp
Organiser: Selected Orienteering Clubs on behalf of the Hungarian Orienteering Federation.
Event type: International 6-day individual event, world ranking event on the 3rd day in elite categories. Overall result will be calculated by adding the 5 best runs (One competition can be omitted, but starting on the last day is necessary to get an overall result) In case of equal placing points the last day's result will determine even if this is the competitor's omitted result.
Terrain description: Various Middle-European terrains rich in contour details, 200-400 m above see level, mostly good runnability.
Maps: 6 new maps, surveyed in 1999, IOF norm, scale 1:10 000 contours 5 m.
Categories: M/W 10C, 12C, 14B,C, 16A,B, 18A,B, 20A, 21E,A,B,C,BR, 35 40 45 50 55 60 and M 65, 70, open advanced, open beginners, string course for children.
Prices: Prices for the first three in each class in the overall result and for the winners each day. Price giving ceremonies will be held in the finish area on the last day and in the neighbouring towns (Keszthely, Sümeg, Tapolca) every evening.
Registration: From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on 13th August, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on 14th August in the event centre.
Model event, training: 14th August. Maps can be purchased in the event centre.
