Prof. Karel Stanėk, from the Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic), visits our Institute September 30 to October 4. Prof. Stanėk is member of the Department of Geography at Masaryk University, researcher and lecturer in the area of cartography and geographic
information science. His main research and lecturing areas are the automated cartographic generalization and related issues, including theoretical cartography. His secondary research area is the design of digital maps and atlases in the web (and generally
internet) environment.</div>
