In some ways the gains are profound: with a few keystrokes anyone can access a wealth of primary and secondary sources; buyers have hitherto undreamed-of access to material; and increased transparency is stabilizing prices. These gains come with costs, however, among them the changing relationship between map dealers and their clientele. In aggregate, this relationship has become more focused on “the deal” than on the development of a mutually-beneficial long-term partnership.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span style='font-size:10.5pt;color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span style='font-size:10.5pt;color:black'>And yet at its best the map trade offers a set of services that represent a unique “value proposition.” These include for example the discovery and restoration of maps, warrantying the maps brought to market, and the identification of new fields for collecting and research. This value proposition benefits collectors, institutions, scholars and dealers. And it is unlikely—at least any time soon—to be replicated by the internet.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span style='font-size:10.5pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span style='font-size:10.5pt'>For more information, see </span></span></span></span><a href="https://bostonraremaps.com/"><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span style='font-size:10.5pt'>https://bostonraremaps.com/</span></span></span></span><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'></span></span></span></a><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span class=MsoHyperlink><o:p></o:p></span></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span class=MsoHyperlink><span style='font-size:10.5pt'><o:p><span style='text-decoration:none'> </span></o:p></span></span></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><b><span style='color:#C45911'>5:30 PM at Denver Public Library <o:p></o:p></span></b></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><b><span style='color:#C45911'>5th Floor, Gates Room <o:p></o:p></span></b></span></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><b><span style='color:#C45911'>Free and open to the Public<o:p></o:p></span></b></span></span></span></p><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'></span></span></span><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'><span style='font-size:10.5pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></span></span></p></td><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2508035'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2258894'><span style='mso-bookmark:_Hlk2507921'></span></span></span></tr></table><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p></div></body></html>
