<font size="3">The University of Edinburgh (Institute of Geography) and National Library of Scotland have recently received AHRC funding, via the Scottish Cultural Heritage Consortium, for a <b>collaborative Ph.D, focusing on the Stevenson civil engineering firm and their maps and plans. </b></font>
<br />
<br />The studentship, which is full time and funded for 3.5 years, will begin in October 2017. During the course of the research, there will also be a six-month project, based in the National Library of Scotland, focusing on creating digital geographic access tools for the Stevenson maps and related archival resources.
<br />
