Charles O. Paullin's and John K. Wright's <em></em><em>Atlas of
the Historical Geography of the United States</em>. It is a
little amusing to see the opening line, "Way back in 1932..."
Also, this is not simply a series of images out of the original
atlas (which are there), but also includes additional images where
most of the maps have been georeferenced and georectified.<br>
