You are asked to note and publicize these important information and dates
for this conference:

The *call for submission of papers* is available on the ICC 2021 conference
website (https://www.icc2021.net/).
Details about the type and content of expected submissions is provided on
the submission web page (https://www.icc2021.net/submission-guidelines/).
All active in cartography and GIScience in your country are strongly
encouraged to submit papers describing their research and/or their work.


*Deadlines*
full papers: *19 March 2021*
abstracts:* 28 May 2021 *

Submitted absracts/papers will be subject to stringent peer review by at
least two experts and carefully evaluated based on scientific originality,
potential interest in the community, proper documentation of prior work,
clarity of presentation, technical correctness, correct use of language.
Accepted abstracts/papers will appear in one of the publications of ICA
events, published in the ICA proceedings series at Copernicus. This series
allows for three different formats:

   1. *Advances in Cartography and GIScience of the International
   Cartographic Association *(*Advances of the ICA*) (single-blind peer
   review based on a *full paper*);
   2. *Proceedings of the International Cartographic Association* (*Proceedings
   of the ICA*) (single-blind peer review based on *submitted abstracts*,
   developed *to full paper*);
   3. *Abstracts of the International Cartographic Association*
(short: *Abstracts
   of the ICA*) (single-blind peer review based on *submitted abstracts*;
   publication of abstract only).


*The International Cartographic Exhibition (ICE)* will be held in a
wonderful setting in the Galleria delle Carrozze of Palazzo Medici Riccardi
in the city center of Firenze.
We expect all ICA National Members to take this opportunity to contribute
to the map exhibition. At this time, please send the name of the individual
who will be responsible for collecting maps for Firenze from your country
to Professors Elena Dai Prà and Andrea Cantile (exhibition at icc2021.net).

The biennial and inspiring *Barbara Petchenik Children’s World Map
Competition* will also be held in Firenze next December. The expectation is
that ICA National Members will arrange a national competition within their
country, and the winning maps from each nation’s contest will be sent to
the international Children’s Map Competition coordinator, per the
competition guidelines. Details can be found on the ICA website (
https://icaci.org/petchenik), the commission website (
http://lazarus.elte.hu/ccc/ccc.htm), and the commission Facebook profile (
https://www.facebook.com/icaccc). At this time, please send the name and
contact information (affiliation, work address, phone number, and e-mail
address) of the person responsible for organization of your national
competition. This information will be made public on the ICA website. This
information should be sent to the commission vice-chairperson (José Jesús
Reyes Nunez, jesusreyes at caesar.elte.hu) and the chair (Carla Cristina R. G.
de Sena, cacrisusp at gmail.com).  Please include both email addresses in your
correspondence.

Other information concerning the conference will be published on the
conference website as it becomes available. This information will include
the outline of the conference, social events, tours, technical visits,
workshops, exhibitions, and accommodation. Please check the ICC 2021
