BUDGET: 1988 budget underspent - see notes on previous minutes.

LETTERS: From Mark Smith + others re the drawing specification revision. The response was much appreciated. Also many letters re the survey project and information on the instructors' kit.

PUBLICATIONS: Simple Maps. One page of illustration to be prepared before printing.
Instructors' Kit . There have been several requests to buy a copy. Text to be laserwritten (FN). Colour copies of OHP slides (RH). Number of copies - 20 - one to each MC member with the rest held in Sollentuna. True cost £60-70. Selling price to federations £40-50 (one subsidised copy per federation).

SURVEY PROJECT: SUI map available. BRD map available, NOR map awaited (area between Drammen and Kongsberg).

INSTRUCTORS' CONFERENCE: Hotel accommodation booked. FN to ask Toby Stenbeck to act as local liaison. Duration to be Friday evening to Monday morning (11-14 August). Map Committee meeting to be on the Monday. Conference topics to include
- computer aided drawing
- quality of base maps
- scribing demonstration
- revision of the map specifications.
FN to organise Apple Mac equipment and to ask TS to follow up in SWE. TB to put together a circular.

MAPPING COURSES:

DRAWING SPECIFICATION: The draft proposals of the working group were discussed and amended. The version to be circulated to member federations is attached separately. TB to prepare a letter. RH to prepare draft and symbols. Comments to be sent to FN. Ski-O map specifications were discussed but were left for further discussion until after 1990.
