Working Groups

(i) Monitoring of map standards: MC to propose that a copy of all maps
from IOF events should be forwarded to the MC from the TC (via Secretariat).
One copy to be kept by Secretariat, one copy to MC.

MC to concentrate on World Cup events. Trial prints to go to the MC.
Contact to be made with 1988 organizers/mappers via World Cup committee.
Action: Lasse Niemela.

(ii) Simple Maps: Proofs corrected. List of Publications, mapping companies, acknowledgements to be added.

2000 copies ordered. Selling price is L0.50. Books to be made available free for courses, MC use and promotion. Books to be retained in Sweden. 20 copies to be sent to each federation.

(iii) Instructors' Kit: Material to be sent to Thomas Brogli by the end of April. He will co-ordinate and produce a draft . L400 in budget for materials.

(iv) Map Symbols: reports of experience with the latest symbols to be monitored at the Congress.

Future Publications
A book on simple map drawing is planned for the next congress period.

Map Courses
1985

Report of the Instructors Conference in BRD circulated. TCH are interested in the next Conference. They may get IOF money for instructors if the instructors are known to the MC.

1986

HUN - course in August. TB as chief instructor plus a Scandinavian (?LN).
AUS - course being organised. No IOF instructor required.
FRA - course in October. TB to act as instructor.
CAN - plans in hand for the August clinic . RH and FN as instructors.
FIN - there is to be a map meeting in association with the Nordic Champs.
Observers are welcome. Language: Swedish. Maximum 2 per country.

NOR/SWE - drawing conference in autumn 1986.
SWE - map meeting in association with the O-ringen.
JPN - possible map meeting with Gunnar Mosevoll.

1987

ITA - course planned.
AUT - two courses planned.
SUI - Instructors' Conference planned. This might be linked with a competition,
possibly the World Championships in FRA.
