When fieldworking it is important to pay attention to the size of the features, the space it occupies in the terrain and the space it will
occupy on the map.
Lines: You can include a ditch of only 5 m in length, but remember that on the map it will look as if it is 10 m.
Space: An adjacent footpath and ditch less than 6 m apart cannot be shown without exaggerating their separation.
Areas: A 2 stroke marsh occupies 50 m 2 . If you want to include an area smaller than the minimum size it must be exaggerated in order to
make it legible.
