Advice / Recommendations
- Appoint controllers before mapping starts if possible
- Check experience of mappers
- Visit area and discuss with mappers before mapping starts
- Run on other maps by mapper
- Check area after small area complete
- Discuss processes and time scales for each stage of map production with mappers
- Insist on following ISOM
- Local habits are hard to change!
- Agree with organizer/mapper third party mediation if problems can be unresolved
- Advice needed on resolving problems
- Check proofs before sending final map to printers
- Use local map controller if not experienced mapper or time in terrain limited
