Dear Students,

I'd like to inform you, the disease emerged in China, evoking pneumonia is
caused by newly detected coronavirus, spreading by respiration and droplet
infection. The centre of the evolvement of the virus is Wuhan city, Hubei
province, but it also has been detected in several countries outside China,
in Europe.

Please note, preventing mass diseases and the spread of the virus is our
common interest by following the rules below:
Most important: compliance with hygiene rules for the prevention of acute
respiratory disease.

-wash your hands frequently,
-avoid contact with sick people,
-in case you are sick, avoid contact with other people.
-wash your hands and face thoroughly with warm water and soap after using
public transportation. It is important to do it upon entering the
university, your dormitory or any other type of accomodation.
-do not touch your mouth (and your face) with dirty hands.
-use new paper tissue when sneezing our coughing and throw it out after one
use.
-avoid close contact with anyone who seems to be infected
-if you travel by plane use a protective mask covering your mouth and the
surrounding area
Seasonal influenza viruses are now also spreading in China and in several
European countries, so everyone is advised to have a flu vaccine.

The coronavirus also infects during its incubation period (when it is
already in your body but is not causing any symptoms yet) which takes
approximately 2 weeks. This means that if you carry the virus, you will be
able to infect others even if you do not feel ill yet.

Students planning to travel to China or arriving from China are encouraged
to follow the recommendations of the WHO and the National Public Health
Center (
https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public).

IMPORTANT:

We are also asking our students who have returned from China in the past
few days, or are planning to return soon especially from Hupei Province to
stay away from community events and the university for two weeks, to
monitor their own health and in case of high fever and respiratory symptoms
contact the designated care center in Szent László Kórház and indicate
where they have been.

Please note, the absence from lectures and pratices concerning students
arriving back from China after 10 February 2020 (first day of the Education
term of the Spring semester) is considered to be proven for two weeks after
their arrival.

Further notification and acts will be announced and taken effect by the
instructions of the National Public Health Center.

Best regards,
Veronika
