[Phd] Invitation to the First Meeting of the Geodiversity and Geoheritage Research Group (Földtudományi Sokféleség és Örökségvédelem Kutatócsoport)

Dear Colleagues,

All of you are invited to the inaugural meeting of the Geodiversity and Geoheritage Research Group (RG) at the ELTE Institute of Cartography and Geoinformatics.
Date: 19 November 2025 (Wednesday)
Time: 16:00 (4 PM)
Venue: ELTE Lágymányos Northern Building, Room 7.55

The research group aims to establish a professional community and platform for dialogue among all who study or work in the broad field of geodiversity and geoheritage research. The RG welcomes institutional members and students (BSc, MSc, and PhD levels) as well as external participants and members of the Hungarian Geological Society’s ProGEO Section.
The RG will provide a regular meeting point — with monthly meetings following a workshop-style format — where participants can present research ideas, discuss challenges, questions, and share progress. A mid-term goal is to collaborate on the development of the Hungarian National Geosite Inventory, an important ongoing initiative of the ProGEO group.
The first meeting will feature a presentation introducing the RG’s background concept and objectives, followed by an open discussion on possible research directions, funding opportunities, and other questions on collaboration forms.
