Dear all,

The *30th International Cartographic Conference (ICC)* of the International
Cartographic Association (https://www.icc2021.net/) is approaching. As you
know, the conference will be held in Firenze (Florence), Italy, as an
*in-person
event* from *14 to 18 December 2021*, and you are warmly invited and
encouraged to participate. In order to give as many registrants as possible
an opportunity to participate – also if they experience difficulties in
traveling this year under the special conditions caused by the late
pandemic – *remote access* to large parts of the conference will be
provided to those who can’t make it themselves to Italy. The ICA Executive
Committee, the President and I look forward to seeing you and many of your
members in person in Florence!

Please find below *some important updated information about the ICC2021. *

The *Call for submission of abstracts is still open* on the ICC 2021
conference website (https://www.icc2021.net/). The *final deadline* for
contributions was extended until *20 June 2021*.

*ICA Scholarships for young scientists* are offered:

· to foster academic research in the domain of Cartography and
GIScience;

·       to establish contact between young scientists and ICA Commissions;

· to support young scientists to be able to actively contribute to
ICA activities and events, especially such as International Cartographic
Conferences;

· to establish opportunities for young scientists within ICA
publications and conferences.

Please share this call for applications again with your Commission and
encourage applicants to send in their documents to the Secretary-General.
The ICA Scholarship is available to support young scientists who would like
to actively contribute to and participate in the upcoming 2021 ICC and/or
Commission workshops organized in conjunction with the ICC. In order to
better accommodate the deadline for acceptance of papers and abstracts, we
have *extended the deadline for the submission of applications* to attend
ICC 2021 by one month until *13 July 2021*. See the ICA website (
https://icaci.org/scholarship/) for further details and guidelines.

And last but not least,* Registration to the conference is now open! *Please
note the lower fees for *early registration*. If you want to profit from
these reduced fees, the deadline for registration is *17 September*.
Regular fees apply to all later registrations. Please see also the special
fees for only-virtual participation:

https://www.icc2021.net/registration/.

Regards,
Serena
