Subject: [Sicsa-hci] PhD studentship in HCI

Dear SICSA colleagues in HCI,

I am currently advertising a fully funded PhD studentship. I am looking for a
PhD candidate who has a very good Honours Degree or a Masters at Distinction
Level in Computing Science or related discipline.

Working with The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment
at RGU, this PhD candidate is required to investigate the technologies in both
areas, and bridge the gaps existing cross two disciplines. The student will
work on computational algorithms and methods to process and analysis 3D
scanned point cloud data and explore frontier digital technologies of 3D
scanning and Drone Deployment, Immersive Technologies, BIM and Visibility
Analysis to record, process and present digital data of the sustainable
preservation of Cultural Heritage. The HCI framework designed and developed on
project will be a platform for gaining and sharing knowledge of relevant users.

As computing scientists, we are mainly focused on providing the research on
HCI domain on chosen topic, especially on 3D visualizations on scene rendering
and gamifications; research methodologies on immersive user interaction; AR
mobile application and WebVR design and development; algorithms development on
Point Cloud Data analysis. Analysis and interpretation of point cloud data
generated from 3D scanners, textured 3D models of selected listed buildings
will be used to aid decision making in relation to design and assessments of
risk, prior to work starting on construction.

I will really appreciate if you could disseminate this information, and if you
know anyone who might be interested, the detailed information could be found
on the following website:
