Dear all,
HFT Stuttgart and the University of Stuttgart offer 12 PhD positions in the
field of urban wind simulations based on 3D city models and related fields.

Joint Graduate Research Training Group Windy Cities
In scope of the "energy transition" a promising field of high socio-economic
relevance and visibility will be processed in this new Joint Graduate Research
Training Group. The cooperative graduate program "Windy Cities" focuses on
investigations of the economic use of small wind turbines for local
distributed power generation in urban areas. The interdisciplinary approach
here includes projects for simulation and visualization, development of new
energy storage technologies, testing of prototypes in wind turbines up to an
intelligent load management.
The doctoral program is funded through the Landesgraduiertenstiftung of the
Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg and includes 12
PhD projects that are awarded in the form of scholarships.

The Data Analysis and Visualization Group (Prof. Dr. D. Keim) in the Computer
and Information Science department at the University of Konstanz in Germany is
seeking applications for multiple

                  Ph.D. and Post-Doc positions
        in information visualization and visual analytics

We are searching for motivated researchers with a Master or Ph.D. in computer
science as well as profound knowledge in the area of data analysis and/or
visualization. The responsibilities of the PhDs and Post-Docs include
independent research as well as the scientific participation and coordination
of research projects in the area of data analysis and visualization with the
goal of strengthening their international visibility as well as
interdisciplinary orientation.

We offer a pleasant working atmosphere in a motivated, cooperative, and
technically well-equipped environment, excellent professional and personal
development possibilities, interesting research projects, foreign exchange
programs, and excellent industry contacts. The chair has a number of ongoing
DFG, BMBF, and EU, as well as industrial projects and is part of the faculty
of computer and information science with a focus on Explorative Analysis and
Visualization of Large Information Spaces.

The salary of the position is determinded by the regulations of TV-L with a
