Topics | Introduction: Short history of general graphic software, characteristics and use/experiences in mapmaking. Work areas of general graphic software, differences and similarities. Input and editing of traditional printed base maps. Layout and page setup. Graphic tools, contour lines and fills. Editing texts. Using layers. Editing different types of objects (shape, knife tool, etc). Other operations with objects- Use of effects during mapmaking- Auxiliary commands: view types, guidelines, grids, etc. Printing and exporting maps. Map publishing on the Web. |
